Mimosa Pudica: Potent strongyloides stercoralis and mumps virus killer

By:  Dr. Matthew Buckley, PSc.D.

One of the most difficult to eradicate parasitic infections is strongyloides stercoralis, aka “threadworm”.    Clinically speaking, the common herbal anti-parasitic remedies such as wormwood, black walnut, garlic, or neem leaf fail to have any significant effect on the worm.  Fortunately, the ayurvedic herb, “mimosa pudica” has been shown to be at least 25 times more potent in killing the infective larvae of strongyloides than the leading prescription medications.(1)

Other research has shown that the herb is also an effective inhibitor of the mumps virus.(2)
